Downtime after SHR (Super Hair Removal) or laser treatments is minimal, with most clients able to resume daily activities immediately. Common post-treatment effects include mild redness, swelling of hair follicles, or a warm sensation in the treated area, which usually subside within a few hours to a day. To ensure optimal recovery, avoid sun exposure, hot showers, saunas, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours, and apply sunscreen to protect the skin. Please wear sunscreen/sun protection throughout the course of your treatments (and always), as we cannot treat sunburned skin.
When it comes to hair removal, the method you choose can make a big difference in how your skin feels as hair grows back. Here's how waxing compares to shaving and hair removal creams... Shaving: Shaving cuts the hair off at the skin’s surface, leaving a blunt edge. As the hair grows back, it feels coarse and prickly, which can be uncomfortable. Hair Removal Creams: These strong alkaline based creams dissolve hair at the skin’s surface and may slightly penetrate beneath the top layer of skin, offering an extra day of hair-free smoothness. However, as the hair grows back, it may still feel rough and prickly due to a blunt edge. Waxing: Waxing removes hair completely from the follicle, allowing it to grow back with a naturally tapered edge. This means no prickles, more of a softer, natural-feeling hair growth.
Transitioning from Shaving to Waxing: If you’ve been shaving or clipping, it will take approximately three waxing sessions, spaced one month apart, for all your hair to grow through at the same stage. This ensures a natural, soft finish. Regular waxing at consistent intervals is key to achieving the best results. Consistency Matters: Sticking to a four-week schedule for most areas ensures your skin stays smooth, and hair removal becomes more comfortable over time. It also helps you avoid irregular hair growth patterns, where hair grows at different stages, making it harder to maintain smoothness. Exfoliation for Healthy Skin: To prevent ingrown hairs and keep your skin in optimal condition, we recommend using a chemical exfoliant rather than a physical one like a back scrubber or hard loofah. A chemical exfoliant gently removes dead skin cells and clears impurities, allowing hair to grow through without obstruction. This simple step will help keep your skin smooth and irritation-free.
Waxing Aftercare: Back Waxing Tips-for the Best Results To keep your skin smooth and healthy after a back wax, it’s important to follow these aftercare steps for the first 24 to 36 hours. Proper care minimises the chance of small pimples that may appear when coarse hair is removed from follicles. Here’s what we recommend: Keep It Clean: Only touch freshly waxed skin with clean, freshly washed hands. Avoid unnecessary contact to reduce exposure to bacteria. Avoid Exercise: Skip the gym for at least 36 hours. Perspiration causes bacteria on the skin, leading to irritation or breakouts. Use our After-Wax Wash: Prevention is better than cure, we recommend a specialised after-wax wash, available at our clinic. This step is especially important during summer to keep your skin clear—because there’s no point in swapping hair for pimples! Mind Your Surroundings: Avoid sitting on furniture without a shirt, as bacteria on surfaces like couches or beds can irritate your skin. Avoid Certain Activities: We suggest for 36 hours, keep away from saunas, chlorinated pools, and direct sun exposure to protect your skin. Please note that we cannot wax sunburnt skin. Following these steps will ensure your back waxing results stay smooth and irritation-free. If you have concerns about breakouts, our recommended wash can work wonders. Let us help you maintain clean and confident skin!
Are you using Advanced, Scientific or Medical Grade Skincare? Here's the difference. The molecular structure of advanced and medical-grade skincare products is formulated with smaller, more stable molecules that penetrate deep into the skin’s layers, allowing active ingredients to be absorbed by the cells and address your concerns. In contrast, regular skincare designed for the general public, typically features larger molecules that will remain on the surface, providing basic hydration and protection but lacking the depth of action needed for more significant skin concerns. Your skin will feel and look better with these creams on yet once they are washed of there has been very little, if not no improvement to your skin. This could be due to various reasons. A health issue or genetics where some men produce more oil on their skin, yet others may have a drier skin texture. The most common reason a skin ages faster than its chronological age is excessive sun and industrial chemical exposure. A Sportsman who has been exposed to extreme sun, or generally a sun lover who may have applied sunscreen, but didn't reapply as often as needed is going to have aged skin before its time. Body builders or men who work out hard, have more damaging free radicals going on in their bodies and therefore skin, which often causes their skin to age even faster. This early aged skin is lacking elasticity which causes fine lines and wrinkles. Uneven, blotchy and generally unhealthy looking skin can be turned into Good Skin. If this is a concern for you, please book a Skin Consultation with us, we're here to help you and can quite possibly improve your skins appearance and youthfulness by 5-20 years. We enjoy a good challenge too!
These are commonly known as age spots or sunspots—which often start appearing in a man’s 40s, though we can see them earlier due to extreme sun exposure. Fortunately, they can go. We offer effective treatments to reduce and remove these lesions, often without the need for a GP referral, though occasionally one may be required. The procedure is typically simple and straight forward, requiring some commitment on your part. The reward is a smooth, even-toned and more youthful complexion that’s well worth the effort, raising your confidence which is a great feeling.

You are not alone, some men have driven past for 6-24 months too worried to visit in case that happened. That is what we don't want, for you to be so anxious and worried. Many men have had this same concern and then have had nothing to worry about. With the thought being much worse than the event of having a treatment done, you do not need to worry as it most likely will not happen to you either. This is not a treatment to be done by a regular beauty therapist who has not had specific male genital training, it is a specialised service that requires a mature and well trained professional. Scotums and penises have thin, delicate skin plus we are removing bothersome hair around the anus. This is a clinical treatment, and is performed that way. Our pricing reflects the advanced skills and professionalism of our trained therapists who share a nurse like mindset in a hygienic and clinical environment.
Most raised lesions are flattened or removed immediately. The flattened area on the skin where the lesion was, will crust over like a scratch or little scab then fall off within days to a week. Each persons skin varies, some heal faster than others and a younger skin is generally going to heal faster than a maturer skin. Some lesions may take two-three weeks to properly heal, depending on the area and lesion removed. Good health, fresh air, exercise and hydration all aid healing.
Most patients experience very little discomfort during these lesion removal procedures. We remove plenty and most are very fast to go, not requiring any anaesthetic. We will consult and advise if pre-numbing may be required for larger lesion removal.
We can safely remove most benign growths like skin tags, age spots, sun spots, cherry angiomas(red blood spots common on torsos), scrotum angiokeratomas, seborrheic keratoses, red veins and capillaries common on noses, cheeks and chins. Some lesions will require a second opinion first. If there is any doubt, we don't take it out, we will refer you to your G.P or skin check specialist for a clearance certificate before we begin.

By electrocoagulation using radio frequency and high-frequency energy to dehydrate and cauterise the tissue, causing it to fall off during the treatment.
Avoid hot showers and harsh soaps prior to your treatment. Moisturising your skin the morning of your treatment is beneficial. Some men use Numbit from a pharmacy to ease the sting prior to treatment. Trim long hairs the night before when hair is long, if treatments are kept 4-6 weeks apart there is no need for trimming. A shower isn't always convenient but we do provide wet wipes for you to take a moment to freshen up before your treatment begins.
Yes without doubt therefore we strongly advise searching and looking for a Therapist who is experienced in male hair removal to avoid unecessary pain. Any form of Male Waxing is not taught at Beauty Colleges in Australia so as a duty of care, we suggest you ask the question before booking yourself what could be an unforgettable experience of the worst type for you plus the unskilled therapist expected to fluke it and know.
Hairs are always growing and replacing, if you stick to the same intervals between appointments that suits your hair growth pattern, you should be able to get 2-3 weeks of smooth skin after a treatment. For the first 3 waxes make appointments 4 weeks apart to have your hairs growing in the same pattern. From that point we will help you decide if every, 4,5 or 6 weeks will suit your growth the best. Just don't mix intervals up otherwise you will continually have break through hair appearing on the smooth area almost daily.
