As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re thrilled to unveil a new chapter in our journey, our name change from MrWax to Men's Hair and Skin Clinic Perth. This evolution reflects our dedication to advancing men’s care and confidence, combining cutting-edge research with global expertise to deliver revolutionary treatments for men's skin and hair thinning concerns.
From 2012, Tricia operated Male Waxing Specialist Perth, recognising the need for a space specifically tailored for men. In 2013, she created the MrWax DIY waxing kit, the first of its kind in the world. This then marked the beginning of the MrWax journey 2014-2024 which then led to the creation of "Men's Hair and Skin Clinic Perth."
Prior to studying Cosmetic Dermatology, additionally to Beauty Therapy, Tricia worked as a Freelance Stylist. She worked with Fox Media for three seasons, being a stylist for the AFL commentators as well as V8 super car legends. Her styling work has been featured in fashion shoots, catwalks, books, magazines and editorials, including, the Biggest Loser and a Men’s Fitness front cover. Her dedication to men’s style, appearance and confidence, is evident.
For the past decade, Tricia has worked alongside her daughter Grace, who manages the clinic on top of being a licensed ARAP Dermal Practitioner, Grace shares Tricia’s commitment to research and education. Together, they’ve travelled extensively to access training not available in Western Australia, solidifying their reputation as leaders in male only aesthetics.
Since 2022, our focus has been on global research and innovation, offering groundbreaking treatments for mens skin and hair thinning concerns. Some being:
- High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU): Non-surgical face and body lifting.
- Exosomes, Epidermal Growth Factors (EGF) and PDRN Stem Cells: Advanced rejuvenation therapies that repair skin, regenerate tissue, improve overall hair and scalp health, stimulating dormant follicles into active growth phases.
- Cold Atmospheric Plasma: Hair follicle stimulation, skin tightening, wound healing, anti-aging, bacterial reduction, combats fungus, scar improvement, tissue regeneration.
- Collagen Induction Therapy: Encourages skin cell regeneration and collagen formation for firmer, healthier skin.
- Warm Plasma: Reduces deep lines, forhead wrinkles, tightens skin, stimulates collagen with results lasting up to 3+ years.
- Light Therapies: Harnessing red, blue, and near-infrared energy for targeted skin improvement.
Advanced Solutions for Hair Thinning Problems
In June 2024, we initiated clinical trials combining Exosomes with Cold Atmospheric Plasma to combat hair thinning and regenerate dormant hair follicles. Exosomes deliver essential growth factors directly to the scalp, reactivating inactive follicles while enhancing cellular repair and scalp health. In October 2024 the product won best aesthetics industry award for 2024, documented in the Aesthetics Journal for Professionals.
In our clinic we are dedicated to providing only products and technologies endorsed by scientists, masters in their field or world class experts backed by reliable clinical data and evidence. Treatments that do not meet these high standards are not introduced in the clinic. The team respects their clients' time and investment, upholding a standard of complete transparency, any images they share reflect results achieved exclusively within their own clinic.

Tricia Trotman
I have a great passion in offering men, aesthetic services that can make their bad day better or their good day great. Treatments men want or need, that add to their day to day self-confidence and well-being. For too long, there’s been very limited support for men in Western Australia. This gap drove me to create a space where men could feel understood and empowered. Their place. Working exclusively with men over the past decade, I’ve come to understand the unique challenges they face, managing problematic hair growth on a back to thinning hair on the scalp, skin damaged by the sun, heat and sweat concerns, chaffing in the groin areas or a painful Pilonidal Sinus(those that suffer with this, know what it is) As a born empath, I've watched, I've listened and caring a lot, have continually tailored our services to meet those needs.
There’re many men with double the concern to deal with. A mix of genetics and hormones that may grow an abundance of back hair as well as thinning on the scalp! Often, I’ve jokingly been asked, “Can you take it from my back and put it on my head?” My response was always, “The moment I find something new available, I’ll be the first to make it happen.” Proudly I can say, it’s happened.

I co-ordinate Perth's first dedicated Men's Hair & Skin Clinic, a family business that was created to fill a significant gap, providing men with a professional yet comfortable environment where they can receive professional aesthetic services designed just for them.
At the core of my work is a deep commitment to supporting men's mental health and overall well-being. I believe that feeling good in your skin can empower confidence, self-esteem, and a healthier outlook on life.
